Do you want to understand how media moves culture and culture shapes societies?Culture Signals Lab is on a mission to understand, document and tap into the power of new media. We study how media is a hidden force shaping identity and behaviour globally, from the music that moves us to the media that moulds us.The future of business and the development world will be driven by culture and we help you make sense of how it works in the internet age.
Culture isn’t just “soft.” It’s the strongest invisible force we’ve got.
From TikTok trends to national identity, from Afrobeat to eco-fashion, culture is where the future is rehearsed. After years of working with organizations to craft strategic narratives, one thing became clear: We need a space to go deeper. To research, experiment, and build new tools for a new era. That’s why we created Culture Signals Lab.
Here, we ask questions like:- How do movies shift behavior?
- What’s the future of beauty or protest or language?
- How does religious music affect politics? Our job is to track those signals, design new ones, and help changemakers and leaders amplify them.
What we do
We deep-dive into the social signals shaping behaviour, from local movements to global pop culture waves.
What we do
We design frameworks, quizzes, and measurement tools to help brands and changemakers understand and grow their cultural influence. We also organise meetups, popups and in-person experiences in different cities to activate a miscro-movement or enhance community building.
What we do
Through the Culture Signals Show and other creative projects, we test stories in the real world to see what sticks.
1. Culture is the most powerful form of soft power.2. Arts and media shape the future before policy catches up.3. The right story can change how we see ourselves and what we believe is possible.
